History

Merricks General Wine Store was built by the Joyner family in the year 1922, the place was a multi-purpose building in the early years. It was a store, a post office and a meeting point for the members of the rural community. Baillieu and Myer’s families bought the store in the year 2008. They refurbished the store and made it new. This newly renovated store is a bistro, provides space for events, and has a cellar door. Their cellar door houses wines from neighboring vineyards and friends to provide more options to their guests. They receive a lot of bookings for weddings, corporate lunches and parties throughout the year.

They have a spacious dining room, beautiful terrace and a deck for small events. Are you fond of French cuisines? You got one more reason to consider this place. Chef Patrice Repellin and his extremely talented team prepare French-inspired cuisines using the finest local ingredients. You can design the menu as per your requirement. Baillieu Vineyard

Baillieu Vineyard was founded by Charlie and Samantha Baillieu in 1999. It’s located in Merricks North on the Mornington Peninsula. The wines are produced using estate grown grapes from their 64 hectares of land and is named as ‘Bulldog Run’. This picturesque property has been bestowed with natural bushland, fresh water and native grasses. However, the area was regenerated to grow grapes. On the north side, the site receives strong sunshine which provides perfect ripening conditions for the grapes along with loamy soil. The impressive terroir yields excellent quality of grapes to make wines.

The wines produced are full of flavour and aromas. They really capture the essence of the land. Baillieu wines are made from varietal grapes – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier and Shiraz. The red wines show a deep colour and the white wines have a distinct freshness to them.
