Nag Tibba- A Must Visit Destination
Nag Tibba which is the highest peak in the lower Himalayan region of Uttarakhand is the perfect place to visit for. One must be wondering how? Nag Tibba is set at an altitude of 3,022 meters and it comes among three principal ranges of lesser Himalayas namely Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal. It is located 16 kms from Landour cantonment and 57 kms from Mussoorie.
It got its history from the abode of Nag devta who is the God of snakes and hence local people offer their prayers for the protection of their region. Hence the word Nag comes from the first part of the name of God and Tibba means hill or peak. One can see the temple at the top of its peak where there are bandarpoonch ranges that end at the Yamunotri side of the Great Indian Himalayas. It is also called Serpent peak.
It is a perfect place for adventure and trekking where one can explore the natural beauty. The trekking route will take one to the dense forests which is rich in flora and fauna and the magnificent views of Bandarpoonch range, Gangotri peaks, Kedarnath peak and snowy peaks of Changaband. -Kempty falls located at a height of 4500 feet and its milky streams of water will make one fall in love with it. Kempty falls is surrounded by the valleys of Mussoorie on the Yamunotri road. The gushing water that comes down at a great height is mesmerising to look for. It constitutes the best picnic spot where one enjoys the massive lake to seek peace. One can also have fun with boating in the nearby man made pond and can have a dip in its water.
-Kanatal Hill Station in the Garhwal Himalayas is the perfect weekend getaway to enjoy for. It is surrounded by coniferous trees and the beautiful sun kissed peaks is what one must explore. -Lal Tibba is the highest and topmost ranges along with Nag Tibba located at depot Hill in Landour. It is known for its sunset and sunrise views which will make one’s journey blissful. -Pantwari village located in Dhanaulti Tehsil district is the base camp for Nag Tibba. Here one explores many species of birds, mountain peaks, Oak and Rhododendron trees and the vibrant colours of nature. For night stay one can seek shelter in guesthouses, small shops and a variety of homestay options.
-Dhanaulti is the popular winter destination set at a height of 2,286 meters off the sea level. It offers panoramic lofty views of the Himalayas that add more tranquility. It provides the magical aura of the snow capped peaks and its pleasant weather. Deogarh forts, Barehipani falls, Eco park are some of the places which one must explore around Dhanaulti.
