Professional Qualifications Of Truck And Bus Drivers-2020

Legislation on the driving of trucks and buses requires a professional driver to be qualified. Professional qualifications have been required in passenger transport since 10 September 2008 and in freight transport since 10 September 2009.

Achieving and maintaining professional qualifications

Professional qualifications are achieved by completing either a necessary professional qualification training or a basic professional qualification test.

If the right to drive a truck has started before 10 September 2009, the professional qualification for freight transport will be achieved through further training in the professional truck driving school.

If the right to drive a bus has started before 10 September 2008, the professional qualification for passenger transport will be achieved through further training.

Registration of professional qualifications and apply for a card.

Before the issuance of a professional qualification card or the issuance of a professional qualification mark for a driving license, the professional qualification training must be registered in the register of traffic matters.

For those who have completed further training, registration is done by the training center that provided the training. 

Those who have completed basic professional qualification training or a necessary professional qualification exam. For registration, a decision on an approved proficiency test must be included.

Training centers and exam organizers

Many truck driving schools and drivers may only be provided by an operator approved to provide professional training for drivers. Approval is granted by either the Ministry of Education and Culture.

The basic proficiency test for lorry and bus drivers may only be conducted by an operator who has been approved to complete the test. The Transport and Communications Agency approves. 

Health requirements

In logistics training, you are required to have adequate physical fitness and a Group 2 medical condition as required by the driving license regulation. The choice of admission as a student is conditional until you can present a medical certificate. You must not have any congenital or established illnesses that could endanger your health or the health or safety of others working nearby.

Suitability for various work tasks may have to be considered based on symptoms and functional impairment, e.g. in the following diseases:

• insulin-treated diabetes
• epilepsy or other diseases and disorders of the balance system
• visual or hearing impairment that cannot be corrected by assistive devices
• cardiovascular disease
• respiratory disease limiting physical endurance and coping with outdoor work
• musculoskeletal disease
• kidney disease
• a mental illness that prevents participation in practical tasks or on-the-job learning
• problem drug use or substance abuse

Collection

• Undergraduate degrees and parts of degrees in continuous search. You can apply for studies all year round. The start date of the studies is agreed upon separately.
• Studying as an apprenticeship: the study is based on an employment relationship, free of charge for the student and the employer, agree on the training with the workplace.

Truck card categories:

The C card

May carry a vehicle with a maximum mass exceeding 3500 kg, a maximum of 1 + 8 persons entered in the registration certificate, and a combination of such a tractor and a coupled trailer with a total mass not exceeding 750 kg.

C1 card (light truck card) The

C1 card may be used to carry a vehicle with a maximum mass not exceeding 7500 kg, the number of persons entered in the registration certificate up to 1 + 8, and to have a combination with such a tractor and a coupled trailer with a maximum mass not exceeding 750 kg.

Truck rescue technology

Before removing the door, tie the door with a sling and anchor it to the vehicle. An uncontrolled detachment of the door poses a risk to occupational safety.
