Nadine Caridi began her Modeling career when she became the poster girl for the beer brand, “Miller Lite”. After that, she came to fame, at least, in the fashion and modelling world. She then appeared in some national campaigns, but she wasn’t half as popular as she became after she started having an affair with the notorious drug dealer, Jordan Belfort.
Her fame did not get her many contracts, neither did it advance her modelling career. In fact, she ended up becoming his wife and was subjected to her new husband who was notoriously known and appeared in the news. Her career stopped as a model when she married Jordan.
The memoir of Jordan titled ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ published by Bantam Books on September 25, 2007, was adapted into an American biographical black comedy crime film bearing the same title. The film directed by Martin Scorsese released in December 2013. It had Leonardo DiCaprio essaying the role of Belfort while Nadine portrayed by Australian actress Margot Robbie. At one of his parties, she met Jordan Belfort where the two introduced by her boyfriend at that time, Alan Wilzig, an American entrepreneur, restaurateur, semi-professional race car driver, and philanthropist. They both had an instant attraction. At that time Belfort was married to his high school lover, Denise Lombardo. Later, they married in 1991 in the Caribbean and have two children, a son Carter and a daughter Chandler.
Jordan bought a luxury yacht that was originally built in 1961 for popular French fashion designer and businesswoman, Coco Chanel, founder of the brand ‘Chanel’. After such a purchase, he gave the name of the yacht ‘Nadine’. In June 1996, it sank off the east coast of Sardinia. Jordan gradually gained notoriety for his illegal businesses which led to investigations by authorities and sentencing of the stock market mogul for 4 years of imprisonment in 2003. He finally served a term of 22 months in prison. Such incidents along with Belfort’s fraudulency, drug addiction, alleged domestic violence on Nadine and his affairs with other women led to trouble in personal relations.
After living together for some years, they divorced in 2005 due to Belfort’s issues with substance abuse, extramarital affairs and fraudulence. Jordan served 22 months in prison for his illegal actions.
