Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith
“Don’t screw it up for yourself. If it’s gonna happen, at least let the universe do it for you.”
For those who don’t believe in luck, it’s likely that you will be able to relate with Alice. This goes back to her childhood when she believed that her life is somehow a series of unfortunate events. Reading this book will help you realize that you are blessed with a lot of things. It’s just a matter of looking around & appreciating what’s there in front you, and accepting the things life give you & learn to make it yours.
The Timekeeper by Mitch Albom
“Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week. There is a clock on your wall or the dashboard of your car. You have a schedule, a calendar, a time for dinner or a movie. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out.”
One of the authors who will definitely let you reflect your life is the one and only Mitch Albom. If you’re a fan, you’ll know that all his books are unputdownable. It talks a lot about life, and keeps your attention with all the quotes that makes you go, “Wow that is so true”. The Timekeeper will let you learn a lot about the value of time. “Time is precious” they say, and this book will tell you exactly why.
November 9 by Colleen Hoover
“When you find love, you take it. You grab it with both hands and you do everything in your power not to let it go. You can’t just walk away from it and expect it to linger until you’re ready for it.”
Love is such a big word, don’t you think? It’s just a four-letter-word, but so many people are crazy about it. It’s beautiful, painful and life changing. It makes you more vulnerable and strong. This book is a certified tear-jerker. If you plan to read this, prepare a handkerchief nearby because the story will get you hooked and you will close the book with a whole new perspective about love, among other things. It will teach you to be about love, patience, truth, and honesty. November is definitely a book you won’t forget.
If you have already read one of these books (or all of them), it’s definitely worth reading the second time. They’re all light and feel-good books that won’t keep your eyebrows together figuring out who killed who. These are books that will tell you about life, luck and love. It may just be a novel ―a mere form of entertainment ― but if think harder and allow yourself to reflect, you can actually learn a lot from them and even apply it in your life. When in doubt, pick up a book and immerse yourself in the mind and creativity of the author. You won’t regret it.
