Want To Start A Morning Routine? Here’s A Suggestion For A Man Who Works From 8 To 5

Whether you’re working from home or at the office, you should have a morning routine that will help you start your productive day. It’ll not only help you make it through the day, but it’ll also serve as your guide to a less hassle work ethic.

When you have “a usual or fixed way of doing things”, or simply called routine, your mind and body becomes aware of what should be done. So if you’re still clueless on how to begin your day, check these 7 steps towards a productive morning!

1. Wake-up early

Set your alarm before you sleep so you can still count how many hours your sleep will be. However, you should also sleep at a reasonable time so that you can wake up early. If your alarm rings, do not hit the snooze button and just give yourself a few seconds before you get out of your bed. Note that you should set your alarm at least 6:00 am so you’ll have ample time to prepare for your day.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), adults ages 18 to 65 are recommended to sleep about 7-9 hours a day. Aside from the sleep hours, you should also consider other factors such as the quality of sleep. It’s essential to feel well-rested when you wake up in the morning.

2. Do some exercises

Do some simple exercises, or you can also have a morning jog to wake yourself up. It’ll help your body to prepare for almost a day of sitting in front of the computer. Exercises also help our body get longer rests, and great sleep.

Aside from helping you to wake up, exercising also has long-term benefits such as reducing developing illness, improving quality of life, and maintaining a healthy weight.

3. Bathroom essentials

It’ll help you boost your confidence if you look and smell nice even if you’re at home. You should constantly remind yourself to look presentable.

Make it a habit to clean up before heading into a day of work. Shave once in a while, brush your teeth, wash your face, and have a quick shower. In addition, it’s nice to feel fresh when starting the day instead of just feeling all sweaty and dirty.

4. Dress up

Men’s shirts tend to wrinkle, especially the semi-formal attires so make time at night or in the morning to iron your clothes. Wear something with a collar, and that fits you perfectly. A well-dressed man always makes sure that he looks presentable on whatever the day is. Even if you work from home, dressing up is a must because working in your pyjamas can be so comfortable that you just want to lie down. Besides, it’s a good thing to always be ready for emergency virtual meetings.

5. Eat breakfast

Don’t start your day with an empty stomach because having breakfast gives you many health benefits. Besides, it wasn’t called the most important meal of the day for nothing. If you can’t prepare your meal in the morning, do it the night before. Preparing your breakfast in advance will refrain you from eating unhealthy meals or even not eating at all.

6. Start working gradually

Start by planning your tasks for the day, checking on your emails, and checking your progress. If you set your priorities, you’ll feel satisfied as you accomplish your tasks. Furthermore, you should also plan how to use your time efficiently. Avoid multitasking so that you can finish a goal after the other.

7. Take small breaks

Always remember to phase yourself, and don’t take things too fast. It’s a good thing to pause for a while to let your brain relax from time to time. Convince yourself that you have enough time to take these breaks so you won’t feel pressured. Furthermore, studies showed that even though taking short breaks while at work doesn’t have as much impact as holiday vacations, it can still help in reducing and preventing stress.

In addition, it maintains performance throughout the day and reduces the need for a long recovery at the end of the day.

Morning routines shouldn’t be complicated. If you’re going to set yours, think of a simple and easy to maintain so that you won’t feel pressured and stressed. Don’t forget to share with us your morning routine by commenting below!
